50 New Pontiacs disappeared Ace Pontiac July 14, 1977 anyone remember backstory?
Mrs and watched the program (link below) Blackout:American Experience documenting the July 14, 1977 NYC power outage. During the show, one participant witness mentioned ACE PONTIAC and storage of 50 new Pontiac's in garage were required to have keys in the ignition and $2.00 (or 2 gallons) of gas in each car by the Fire Marshall. Those 50 Pontiacs were said to have "disappeared" during the NYC blackout. Anyone know history and/or any connection to any of the "lost" ACE Pontiac's? This OP is intended for conversation about the Pontiac's only, please no political mcommentary here in the lobby. Thxs. http://video.pbs.org/partnerplayer/F...endscreen=true |

The NYPD bought Pontiacs in 1976 only.
