Default Another '70 T/A to be saved

Two weeks ago last Monday, I picked up this 1970 T/A. This is one I had been looking at for the last two years. I had given up on ever buying this one when out of the blue I got a text message from the owner that he needed to sell. This car will need a lot of work, but it is a Lucy blue 4-speed. The good is that I have the numbers matching M20 transmission, 12 bolt, carb, distributor, exhaust manifolds and intake. The original block and heads are still an unknown as the owner had them with him in the St. Louis Missouri area and they are now gone. It is unknown whether they were in a storage unit and got sold when he didn't pay the rent or if his ex-girlfriend had something to do with the disappearance. If anyone knows of a 1970 WS block purchased from the St. Louis area in the last couple of years with a Norwood partial VIN ending in 05920, That would likely be my block. The story on the car is that it was parked in 1976 in Oklahoma where it sat until about 2007 when purchased by the guy I bought it from. Car has some rust in the pillars and left quarter, especially the windshield and backglass channels, but the underside is clean. Trunk pan will also need work from water leaking into the trunk. I was hoping to get a blue one that wouldn't need so much work, but at this point, it is hard to be picky with so few left.
Any help finding my original block would be appreciated!

I was thinking that myself the day I picked it up. The pick of my '71 with your '70 at the Indian Uprising is my background pic on my computer.

Nice score and once you get it done you'll be able to make your own screen saver pics.
Congrats on the new ride!

Yes, I have 4 of them. I am missing the spare so at some point, I will need to find a 1/27 dated JW.

Default A few more pics

Here are a few more pics. Some of the parts were just piled into the interior. Made for a neat treasure hunt when we cleaned it out. The car still has its original fenders and hood.
Original exhaust tips (and most of the rest of the original exhaust) is still on the car.

Very cool! It doesn't get any better than a Lucy blue 4 speed 70 T/A!

Glenn,

Of course you would be welcome to have a pic taken. The more of these cars we can save the better!

Subscribed to this thread. That IS a great story. Congratulations on landing it.

My '72 Lucy/white interior TA purchase happened the same way. Previous owner went from 'I'm never going to sell this car' to getting a phone call one day out of the blue to 'come get it'.

The interior looked similar too, with many many parts stuffed in the car and trunk.

I even brought some gypsies back with me that weren't discovered until we started cleaning out the goodies in the car. Did your car have any non paying tenants?

No, fortunately, no "non-paying tenants" were aquired with the car. Haven't even found much evidence of mice at all which makes me very happy. Mice infested cars always have a foul odor that can be hard to get rid of. I bought one '79 T/A once that had so many mouse droppings in the cowl/rocker panel that when I flushed it with water, it ran out black for quite a while!

Who's afraid of a little mouse, or two? I'm surprised you got them to sit still.

Had one! That was one car that really pained me to sell, wife at the time wouldn't let up. After we sold it, my phone rand off the hook for a month and she says Gee, maybe we should have kept that car.
