Default Etown or Atco run? Interest?

I'd like to run my car this season and am looking for a day or event to do it. Englishtown is closest to Long Island but Atco could work too.

I'd be happy with a test & tune day and ideally have a bunch of forum friends meet up there.

1) anyone interested?
2) anyone know of an event that is coming but not yet publicized?
3) any suggestions for a date for me and friends to just go where we'll likely get the most runs in?
4) I'd likely rent a trailer unless anyone wants to share trailer space or something. Last time I did this with my 68 I drove to/from the track, but this car is much faster which of course means more likely to break! LOL

Love to hear your thoughts.

To a best of my knowledge Englishtown does not provide rent days, only Atco does.
I have interest.

I see the Atco rental seems to be a $2k min per their agreement here and info here: http://www.atcoraceway.com/track-rentals/

Their schedule is on line for the year:
http://www.atcoraceway.com/wp-conten...hedule-3-6.pdf

Etown schedule is not up for the summer. They have test and tune on wed and fri nights, but I'd really rather not have to drive home at night.
http://www.etownraceway.com/drag_racing_schedule.aspx

How does Sunday July 26th or Aug 9th look at Etown?

Track rentals are fun, Bunch of friends running, grudge runs... You can beat your car to death. You get way more runs on a track rental than open track.
If I get my junk together I would be interested

Well, I'd be totally down for a track rental day. I prefer Etown since it's closer, but if Atco is the only track that rents out, I'll deal with the extra driving.

So, who's down for a track rental day on Aug 9?

I might be interested, depending on dates.
Any of you who like to race with a friendly group and have a stock-appearing car, check out http://SupercarRaces.com/. I've been racing with them since 2009 at tracks like Englishtown, Atco, Cecil County and Island Dragway. A great bunch of racers and fun times for $35-$40/day.
Check out therir schedule at http://supercarraces.com/2015events.html. If your car qualifies for FAST rules, just show up, join in and race.

What about island dragway? Looks like they have a test and tune day on Sunday 8/9.

As for the FAST style races, they're a blast! But my car is very far from stock.

Disregard my prior post. I misunderstood the bop comment.

How is island dragway? Looks like a nice, quaint place. Any amenities like food? Parts?

Going to Island is like stepping back into the 1960s! There is not much around in the immediate vicinity.

Well, I'm bringing a car from the 60s, so it's all good! LOL How's the track and how well run is it? I'm just interested in being able to get in as many runs as possible until: a) it closes or b) I break something. Hopefully the former not the latter. ;-)

Would I be better off packing food for the day? I saw a hot dog truck, but don't want that as my only option for a long day. Might be better to pack a few heros for the day if that's my only option.

I read somewhere on line that you can get 10 runs on a friday night T&T session there. Not very busy there. But I prefer daylight, especially for the ride home.

I've raced at Etown, which of course is a serious track. I've been to Atco many years ago.

Bump for interest. I'm thinking either:

A friday night in June or July at Etown,
or
Go to Island drag for the Sunday 8/9 test and tune.

or

we look to rent the track one day. maybe a week day in the summer? Who's up for that? Please chime in!

If I get it running right, maybe even Fri night in May?
