Weatherstrips for a 4-dr lemans
i'm looking door wheaterstrips (or wheaterstripkits) in particular the horizontal windows felts or glass channels with the right fuzzies for a 4drs 1966Lemans. Anybody could give me a good direction which seller (or site) have these. 2drs I can find everywhere, 4-drs not. Or good replacements
TY

Steele Rubber Products or Restoration Specialties. RS resells some items and has some that nobody else has. They are great to deal with. I prefer Steele to Sofseal, but that is another option.

You may have to look for another A body equivalent to find them at Steele. I had to do this for my B body wagon. Used Chevrolet Sedan, which is same as what I needed. I found one that would interchange and bought corresponding part. I was not able to find a complete kit anywhere and had to put mine together, but probably saved $. Rest. Spec. has Cat Whiskers products for the felts.
You probably already know this but at least on my B body, I had to remove glass from channels in order to replace sweeps & felts.

Just curious, what is a wheaterstrip?

Weatherstrip. Cut the man some slack - he is from Holland and has the ability to communicate in multiple languages. Plus, they have Adult Disney World over there which can be distracting.

Other question, are the parts or dimensions (except for the doors)of A-body like the vinyl / moldings, the same as a 2 drs?

The roof line on the 4 door model is different from the 2 door so all the roof trim is unique to it.
Drip rail, Lower Vinyl top & rear window reveal. Even your glass is 4 door only. When searching consider wagon seals as they are a bit more common. Not sure if you saw the OPG offering but would think Soft-seal can get or has the same. https://www.opgi.com/tempest/AMS5001/

Vinyl top moldings will differ from a 2 door. But again, look to the Chevy market since that is the dominant GM line to be copied by the aftermarket companies.
Regarding other rubber products for a four door like yours, I can only imagine the doors will be a challenge. I think all the other weatherstripping and seals will be the same as a two door. You may know this, but door seals and window sweeps are not the same for the hardtop and sedan versions. |

TY Jeff,
Damm, those hardtop sedan parts are less easier to find. because I have to ship it overseas, I would like to order and buy more items at once, due the shipping costs. So Ames or our host come into the picture. Do you maybe know if Ames (or PY) have soffseal parts (Ames art. F235B)? Or is this quite so good?

I am not an A body guy at all but… I don't think Sedan/wagon is near the same. They use run channels in closed frames and not the foam like hardtops except on the exterior of the door frame, which is totally different. Be glad. I just did my wagon run channels. It is a miserable job. AFAIK I am the only one on PY dumb enough to do it.
If Ames has it, you are much better buying it from Sofseal or Steele as all they do is resell from those 2. Stuff is light and not bulky, so shipping might not be as bad as you think. Plus trusting them to get you the right part on a non 2-door Abody or B body is a huge crap shoot, and I would say from my experience that you are very likely to have to ship something back to them if it is not off a GTO. Been there done that.
