Default Quadrajet 7040267 - 1970 GTO 455 Manual Transmission

I'm keeping an eye out for a 7049267. This one's been on eBay for quite some time:

Does that seem at all strange to have a 1977 date code? I understand there are a lot of Service Replacements out there, but 7-8 years later?

Also, the font for the "267" portion of ID doesn't match the rest of it. Is that typical or would you guess there's some monkey business going on?

they where making service carbs in few year intervals...stamp looks typical

Aside from the lack of wear and tear, who really cares if it's NOS when it has such a "wrong" date code? The search continues.
