Default Another 455 up and running - THANK YOU ALL

I wanted to extend a big THANK YOU for the help with my new motor. Jim, Cliff and Rocky, your books have been invaluable resources as well as the many knowledgable people on this forum.

This was my first complete assembly and I am pleased. I only have around 50 miles on the motor and have not got into the secondaries yet, but on the primary side it runs smooth and strong! Thanks again to all for your help with this build! Here is the combo:

455 bored .030, rebuilt unported 6X-4 heads, SPC-8, Rhoads, stock crank, RPM rods, Sealed Pro forged pistons, Continental 10" in a 1975 Formula with T-350 trans, 3.42 posi, stock fuel system and Flowmaster dual system (17104, IIRC).

I think the fun factor is going to be high with this car!

Rick

77 TRASHCAN, yes it is the mandrel bent into the transverse muffler in the stock location. It is noticably louder with this engine than it was with the stock W72 it replaced.

Steve25, that is the plan. I just changed the break in oil on last Sunday so next is dialing in the fuel mixture for part throttle cruise and secondaries!

Cool, My brother has same setup on a 73 camaro, I like it. Doesn't sound like typical flowmaster muffler. I really like not having to grit my teeth every time I drive over railroad tracks or some weird dip in road, worrying about mufflers...
