Default Proper routing of fuel lines

Do you recognize this line? I’m re-installing fuel and brake lines. I don’t remember where this ¼ line came from (see pic). It does not have fittings on either end; it’s just tapered to allow for hoses and clamps. I’m inclined to think it’s part of the fuel return line somewhere between the fuel pump and tank.

With the complexity of running these lines, I’m leaning towards running flexible steel lines which may be a better option.

I just remembered that this line may go from the tranny modulator and up to the intake manifold.

Just change "may go" to "goes" - and the U-turn on the end brings it in line with the larger vacuum fitting on the front passenger side of the carb.
