Anyone know which coil would have come in a 1972 Formula 400? Should be B-R Delco Remy. Which number?
Thanks,

GM started 1970 using BR410, then late 70 switched to a BR424 for all of 71. I am pretty sure 1972 continued using the BR424 coil.. My late,7/71, 71 HO has the 424.. only a few weeks later the were making 72 model year FB's,so I think 424's carried over. this is just what I know as true for 70-71, others who have 72's can confirm..

If you can't find a 1115424 or 1115410 (neither are reproduced as far as I know) then another acceptable number is 1115238 which is called out in the factory service manual. Much easier to find NOS or good used and it is reproduced. May not be assembly line correct but I wouldn't think anybody would give you grief for that one.
http://www.ebay.com/dsc/i.html?_from...&_odkw=1115424 (link looks like it is for 424, but it is for 238) The 3rd and 6th ones in the list are good examples. . Last edited by TA455HO; 07-10-2014 at 01:24 PM. |
