I am having some trouble figuring out which harness to use in my 72 Formula 400. I believe the correct harness is FB20530 from American Auto Wire. The only issue I see with this harness is that there is a connector for the hood scoop. I am assuming that this is for the solenoids on the Trans Am scoop. On a Formula, would this have been a loose connector under the air cleaner?

I would just tape it up in the loom if every else is good.
The factory may have done this anyway. (I'd have to look at the wiring diagram) ![]()

i agree with the above, most likely taped up at the factory.
i'd have to guess gm had maybe 2 to 4 variants of harnesses covering 50 possible combinations? i dunno.. connections/connectors not needed? taped up. as an example, my 70 esprit, while molested when i got it, was pretty virgin with dash wiring. playing around one day i saw the footwell light housings taped up, factory tape. so i undid them and screwed 'em into the appropriate place on dash frame and viola! instant courtesy light package. there were other connectors i saw that were unused and had clearly been taped for 20+ years.
