Here's a sneak peak of the GP fender & 1/4 patches. Just by eye, they look really good..! I have donated a full quarter and a pair of fenders to be the ginnea pigs. They are at a body guy right now. We'll see how they turn out, but I am real hopeful..!

GP fender and 1/4 patch panels
Mike, you are the man!!! These look great and will no doubt go a long way toward saving and improving lots of GP's!!! As you know finding fenders and 1/4's for our GP's is very difficult and expensive and creating your own patch panels? Who is that good? This is a much needed shot in the arm for these cars. Keep us posted and thanks!!!

Here is the first try of the fender patches. So far so good... we only did the passengers side first, but he has the drivers side & an original full quarter to do. They look great according to the body guy. We matched up the w/o molding to the newly repaired fender and everything lines up very nice. Check out the pictures.

We're getting closer... I went over to my body guy this weekend to inspect the patch panels. All I can say is WOW..! The fenders patch panels are just about approved. I have to match it up to a door to make sure the contour is proper. The bottom flange where it matches up to the inner brace is a little bit off, but with a little opening of the slot, it's no big deal. I will ask my supplier if they can get the slot in the correct spot. I don't think it's the end of the world if they don't get it exact. Any body guy would be happy the patches are out... My body guy said that he normally does not go all the way up to the seam on patches, but he wanted to test the entire piece.
Quarter patch pics are in the next post GP Mike |

On the quarter patch, I only had the passengers side full quarter to have the patch installed on. So far, it looks great... The back area where the potmetal bumper to quarter filler gets installed looks very nice too. I fit the potmetal piece up to the quarter and it fit fine.
Check out all the pictures. If you guys want to get on the list for these patches, please give us a call and place the orders. We will not bill a credit card until they actually come in. Once they come in, we will call you first. |

Mike I am VERY pleased you guys are doing this !!
Do you think would also do the top section of wheel lips area and front section of quarter also? I think should move this also to the 69-77 GP Tech section. Will get way more viewing there. Dave |

This was in the parts wanted section by mistake, so I moved it to the 69-77 GP Tech section like Pontiyak suggested.
This project is looking good. Nice job Mike! Steve

Awsome news! Do you know what the projected cost is going to be yet? Also it would be really awesome if you guys repoed the chrome fender lover panels on the bottom of the fenders for a 70!

The quarter panel patches have been approved for the 69-70 cars. I have to go to a friends house and compare these patches to the 71-72 and see if they can be used. I bet most of it can...
I have one more test for the fender patches. I need to put a door next to the fender and see the contour. Just by taking measurements & comparing an original fender to the patches, I think they are good to go! The next couple of days I should finish the testing. As far as getting them available, I would think we would be ready to have inventory sometime in June/July time frame. I will continue to post updates. If you are thinking about getting these patches, please place the order and we will not bill you until they come in. We will contact you first. The part numbers are B2710L & B2710R for the fender patches and B2001L & B2001R for the quarter patches. Thanks... GP Mike |
