Default Door hinge pins help

I'm having a hard time finding hinge pins for my 67 GTO. the length is 2 1/2" from the bottom of the head to the part of the pin that is mushroomed out to hold the pin. The original plastic bushings are no good.

I got mine from Pep Boys. They were on the shelf in the section that had all the "help"
type things in the red packages. I have no part # but if you measure yours you should be able to find them. If I reacall they came packaged with pins an a few bushings... this was a year ago or so.

Are there REMOVABLE pins for our hinges?
You know, so I can take the DOORS OFF whenever I want.

Machinist buddy of mine makes his own pins from valve stems of the appropriate diameter.

They don't wear out like the mild-steel junk the car came with.

Removable pins implies no spring-assist detent on the hinge. Not my first choice.

I would think the hardened pin would simply wear the cast iron hinge out sooner. I would think if you use the stock pins, at least you can replace them again, and the hinge body would be ok. But, these cars aren't like a lot of new cars that start to sag after 5 years of use. Doing it once would probably last another 40 years.

Well I'm going to replace the bushings with new bronze ones and figure I might as well put new pins in too.
