Default Happy new year!!! (early)

And what a crazy year it has been. After losing a 14 year job at a Ford dealership due to a work injury & being hurt & unimployed for 2 years, I got a new job last December 2012. My boss died mid April 2013 & I got promoted to his position as maint. manager for the corperation. With the position is full health ins. coverage & a large raise! I got caught back up on the mortgage & bills. The wife of 38 years filed for divorce in July. My 61 Tempest got flooded in September & has had major electrical issues ever since. Have not driven her in 2 months! November 27th (day before Thanksgiving) the divorce was final. I get to keep the house & all my cars (with associated dept). Dec 3rd, my 1 year anniversary at the new job, I get another pay raise. December 24th get a $500 buck Christmas bonus!!! Then today my crew & I are hard at work in the shop when the cleanup buzzer goes off at 2:50 pm. We clean up & lock up everything & head out of the shop to find the place deserted!!!! We were locked in!! I called my boss & ask whats going on. He says we shut down at noon today for the new years holiday! Well, nobody told us!! We were still working! He had to come back to the yard & unlock the gates so we could get out!! So,,,thats how my last year has gone!! Ups & downs all the way!! Cant wait to see what 2014 brings!!! Hope everyone has a safe & happy new year!!!

Now to go hide in the bathroom!! The gun fire has started early this year!!

Happy New Year one and all. May 2014 be a hell of a lot better than 13 for everyone. Including those in need.... and especially a special someone I can't mention without permission.

Keith,
I pray for better, and increase for you.
The big "D", and after getting so many things turned around, finally....Geez

Make sure you are protected, in your divorce decree. Any credit cards w/ your name on the applications (when you were married) should have been canceled, and any other financial obligations...

I was divorced in 2001, she kept a major card, and I the other. She went and racked her credit up and filed bankruptcy in 2004.

I got started getting calls from a collection agency, saying I owed them ($8000.00). I explained that I received NO goods and services from such charges. I will NOT pay for her stuff....got calls for 2-3 years afterwards, quit getting calls around 2008............

The IRS sends me a bill this Dec. 2nd, saying I owe them for unreported income in 2011...........HUH..........The $8000.00 was written off by the CC co. So it was (and always is) thrown back to the card holder a debt cancellation, hence taxable income...The CC co. neglected to send me a 1099 form informing me...ya think they care???
The IRS wants me to pay the taxes on the $8000.00, amounting to $1200.00, we'll see how this plays out...I'm waiting to hear back from them...

Anyone reading this, beware..........
