Default 1973 Formula 455 Project, 1972 Formula 400 Running/Driving

It has been fun, but I have decided to move on from the Firebird hobby. I will be selling my cars and parts. I will post pictures and create an ad this weekend. Just don't have the time necessary for these projects and feel like they are hanging over me. Here is a brief description of the items I have for sale.

1972 Formula 400 - Running/driving car. Needs paint and interior. Recent bushings, rear springs and shocks. Has 462 drag engine, TH400, and 4.10 rear in place. I have original numbers matching drivetrain that has been professionally rebuilt ready for installation.(You get two engines, two trannies, two rear axles)

1973 Formula 455 - Subframe and front suspension powdercoated and completely rebuilt with '72 455 engine and trans also rebuilt. Includes all engine accessories, radiator, condenser, etc... Could be rolled under a car and operational in a couple of hours. This is fully detailed and looks new. Have all of the parts to complete this car(or not).

Rusted out '73 parts car. 12x12 building full of parts from several cars I have parted. Most of my interest was in Formulas so those are the parts I have collected. In addition to the original parts, I also have some performance parts.

If anyone is looking for an excuse to get their old car running again, some of this will get you in the right direction. I am hoping my sale can contribute to the completion of a couple of cars.

I'm not looking to get rich, just ready to move on to something else.

Pictures of the project car and parts: http://flic.kr/s/aHsjNoA3V3

I will post pics of the 72 Formula 400 soon.

Thanks,
Tom

Sorry guys. I made a couple of posts and lost track of where the responses were coming from. I would like to sell the subframe/455/TH400 for $5000. For another $2500, I will add all of the parts necessary to complete a 73 Formula 455 including title. The other parts I have would be available at that point. I would like for someone to get everything they want/need before I start selling individual parts. I don't have "rare" parts like hairy hoses, plastic valances, etc......

Thanks for your interest. I can provide detailed specs for the engine build. The trans has a mild shift kit and a redneck converter. Everything on the subframe is new or rebuilt.

How much for this?

Are the rear wheel wells stretched on that?

Default Update...

Here is a brief description of the items I have for sale in Austin, TX.

1972 Formula 400 - Running/driving car. Needs paint and interior. Recent bushings, rear springs and shocks. Has 462 drag engine, TH400, and 4.10 rear in place. I have original numbers matching drivetrain that has been professionally rebuilt ready for installation.(You get two engines, two trannies, two rear axles) $9500

70-73 Subframe/Engine/Trans - '73 Subframe and front suspension powdercoated and completely rebuilt with '72 455 engine and trans also rebuilt. Includes all engine accessories, radiator, condenser, etc... Could be rolled under a car and operational in a couple of hours. This is fully detailed and looks new. $4500

'71/'73 Firebird Body - Body has been media blasted and acid coated to prevent rust. Body has several rusted panels, but includes all of the necessary replacement panels from Goodmark. '73 fenders and doors. Formula hood. Combine this with the subframe listed above to build a '73 clone. No title. Body is on a rolling cart. $2000

Rusted out '73 parts car. 12x12 building full of parts from several cars I have parted. Most of my interest was in Formulas so those are the parts I have collected. In addition to the original parts, I also have some performance parts. I prefer to sell individual parts to anyone that is interested in buying one of the projects.

The one for $2000 is a '71 body with Goodmark panels and '73 fenders. 70-74 doors. Formula hood. This is basically a group of body parts no title, no subframe or rear axle.

For another $750, I have a rolling '73 firebird that could be used for subframe and rear axle(body is a Flintstones special). No title.

This is a good deal for $2750.

Goodmark panels included are: passenger rocker, outer rear lower quarter both sides, full rear tailpanel, cowl, floor panels both, full trunk panel. I have original panel material cut from another car for other necessary patches.

Pictures are here:

The gold tinted body in the shed is the '71. The rolling '73 is the rusty blue car with white Shakerla hood. The body panels I mentioned are in addition to what you see on the rusty '73. I don't think there is a straight panel on that car, but you could definitely use it for some patches. The maroon/rusty body is the '71 before media blasting.

Did you sell this one? I looked on the Flickr page, but I don't see any pictures of this particular car. Or is it the gold-ish one in a few pictures? Exactly what panels do you have for the car from Goodmark?

You mentioned no title: do you have any idea what it would take to acquire one here in Tx? What is the history that you don't have one?

Thanx!

I just talked to Tom the other day. Great guy by the way. I've bought several parts from him. He still has everything. He's a home builder and has been pretty busy lately. He still wants to sell everything.

Concerning the re-pop sheetmetal he has, I believe he has most or all of the new parts that have come out in the last couple of years like the tail panel, trunk drop offs, etc... I'm sure he does not have the full quarters as those just came out.

In Texas, everything has to have a title. If you don't have a title you have to apply for a bonded title. I have not had to go through the process yet, I did a little research when I thought I was going to have to do it. I've heard its a bit of an involved process and can be a little expensive but you'd have to go to the state website to confirm.
