LOL, what a bunch of idiots! they either think we are all fools or that vintage cars have no value. Where have they been the last 20+ years.

The way things are going now, that may be a good offer. In a few years, they'll probably just TAKE it.

best thing for them to do is go to a MECHEM or Barret auction.
Plenty of 1994 and older cars there......
Not sure about those $1000 bids though LOL

At least they say you can disregard, if the vehicle is a classic or of value to you.

Hey boys, this could be a real money maker. I'm pretty sure I can get a train load of 94 and older clunkers around here in Tennessee for 200-400 dollars a piece. Send them out to bossbirdta and split the difference with him for his trouble. What do ya think LOL.

Reminds me of the "Cash for clunkers" program that was offered up in 2009. Except the Government offered up to 4 grand per vehicle that fell under the same guide lines at this offer here.

Another benefit to living in the Communists State of California, surprised it was not signed personally by Nancy Pelosi. In the future it would not surprise me if they will mandate us to either register them as historical vehicles or tun them in. Some in the CA legislature would like us to pay a "polluter tax" on everything that does not have OBDII.

I see that calif crap, I have had to pay back registrations a few times for cars in Calif. The last one was even if it left the state. Place sucks, and they are so far in debt they cant even afford the $1,000 dollars this sheet offers. I resold a HO out there due to a couple years of money owed, had to pay it on a T/A to buy it too. Nice place to visit.

You should see what our reg fees are...

In my line of work I deal with "green liberals" all the time. More than happy to sell Leaf and Tesla owners solar car charging systems so I can drive my old cars and AMGs... I sleep well with the negative carbon offset, you only live once...

Didn't you know that all electricity that does not come from Solar panels comes from dirty dinosaur oil or coal controlled by evil conservatives, Fox News and Dick Cheney personally. PGE is the exception, aside from blowing up your home with their awesome gas line maintenance they are committed to safety. Please save the planet, buy a plug in hybrid and give me all your Pontiacs for the sake and of our children's future and the poor defenseless animals.

I do admit that the Tesla is a good looking car BUT when I braced my friend the owner about where he thought the electricity came from to charge that baby, he promptly informed me " only from solar and wind electricity generators".
Of course, I then had to add a dig about Solyndra and numerous other solar companies that have went out of business as well as the toxic waste that is the end product of producing solar panels. He almost started to cry in fear of good old Mother Earth here in California.
I relented and then told him that most of the solar panels are produced efficiently in China or the Philippines and that it would be THEIR countries that would be polluted.

Hmm, I feel the need to fire up the T/A and burn some dinosaurs.

I still have nightmares about the CARS program.
The only joy was seizing up some motors on purpose. Of course we got tired of just locking them up. Resorted to WOT with no oil.
Surprised that some cars can stand a lot of abuse before the inevitable.

I even made myself a little trophy from a 4.9 liter ford so as to never forget:
