According to most online sources the accident in the photo was not connected to texting - it happened back in 2005, the driver was a 58 year old man. However, I agree that texting and driving don't mix.

We are no longer allowed to have our cell phones in the delivery trucks where I work. We were told that an employee at another store was texting while driving and hit a wheel chair bound person resulting in that persons death. If we are caught with the phone it is grounds for immediate termination of employment.

We've talked about that pic a couple of times here. It's nasty. And I was convinced that there is blood visible on the door of the trailer where his head would've been.
I saw a clown texting today on the interstate at 4:15 today swerving around with a baby seat in the back. Yesterday some witch was in front of me sitting at a yield with no cross traffic staring at her phone. I blew at her to get her lard out of the way and she got angry. Good. |

Mate...that sucks..really....I hate these people, so damn self absorbed.
I came up onto this early 20's girl, driving well under the speed limit and weaving around in the lane. So I'm thinking she's on the phone...sure enough, I move up on her quarter and I can see her texting...looking at the phone more than the road. I waited till her eyes were down on the phone and lit her up with my horns.....I think the phone ended up in the back seat, lol.

Big problem here in OZ also..
Sad story was a fatal smash near my home , the police on the news pleading to the younger drivers not to text or call on mobile ,gave the reason the young driver was killed that his best mate in the back seat sent him a text,he fumbled for the phone and lost control . John L.

I was rear ended in 2005 while sitting at a traffic light minding my own business.
BANG!! SUV tagged me without even touching brakes and winding up in my backseat..OUCH !@! I saw kid in side mirror with cell phone in hand..  Cost me two surgeries and more back pain issues..GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I have a hands free device and still don't take phone calls too much.. Never take a text.. Agree about women in Mini vans...most with kids on board..
