Recommendation for convertible top lift cylinders
I put the new rear window and well liner in my dad's 65 Lemans convertible last month. I noticed one of the top lift cylinders was leaking (from the top of the cylinder) pretty bad. I searched the archives and learned that I should replace BOTH lift cylinders and not just one to keep the top from possibly twisting.
I did some research on lift cylinders, but I'm looking for a recommendation on name brand and/or source for a pair of good lift cylinders. I happen to have just bought a house and am moving out of state in two weeks, so I need to get these cylinders quickly and get them in. Any recommendation where I should get these would be greatly appreciated. Also, it appears to be a straightforward job but are there any pointers on cylinder R&I anyone would like to add? Thanks much, Terry |

If the rods are not pitted you might want to rebuild them yourself. I did mine and it's pretty straight forward and I'm all thumbs. Rebuild kits are on ebay and pretty cheap compared to new cylinders.
