1971 Pontiac GTO Judge Convertible for sale
Came across a 71 Judge Convertible for sale for $265,000 Canadian at Legendary up this way. Seems like Legendary sold it once before.
No PHS, data plate or VIN information listed but it is reportedly a 1 of 1 Tropical Lime on black car with a black top. Sold new in Charlotte North Carolina so it seems to be the documented P110472 car sold from the Frank Woods dealership about January 8, 1971. Matching 455 HO & automatic tranny; other options include center console, power steering, custom three-spoke sport steering wheel, power brakes, top, rally gauges, AM radio, honeycomb wheels, sport mirrors, wheel well mouldings, tint. Rotisserie restoration completed with very few miles since complete. Out of my league but here is the link http://www.autotrader.ca/a/Pontiac/G...howcpo=ShowCPO |

Not the greatest color. I don't care how rare.
Jeez, you know what I would rather buy for $265k? |

I dont know much about Judge's but I didn't think you could get a 455 in a Judge?

The 455 was optional in 70 and the 455 HO was the only engine for a 71 Judge.

Love Tropical Lime!!
Too bad it wasn't available a year earlier in 70. Then I would redo my 70 convertible in that color (or MAYBE Lucerne... overall pontiac had much nicer colors in 71 than 70 in my opinion, maybe because I'm from 71?)

You could always build a 455 HO for your 70 as there was a 455 HO D port engine that put out 370hp with 450 lbs TQ. @4200. All of those engines are 4 bolt main engines to. Also there was a few 70 that have a 455 with the Ram Air IV heads on them put together in dealerships because the Ram Air IV short bolt wasn't any left or ready at the time when a customer had blowen his IV car up so they would put in a 455 bottom end for an ccar which had bigger displacement but also had the required 4 blt bottom end. I know of one that was at the GTOAA meet in 1988, an original owner car with ALL the parer work showing why it had a 455 with the IV heads. And for nicks67 your correct you must not know alot about the Judges but hang in there we were all once blind but with time & trial we all learn about our favorite brand of car,,,PONTIAC.

May just be my opinion but I would have to say Tropical Lime was the high impact color of the year for Pontiac - akin to Orbit Orange for 70 & Carousel Red for 69.
The convertible in question has a great history.
