if thats all your runnin i dont need more to go slower

just read were alot of small ford guys complained of theirs being doggish off boost. im guessin moreso from lack of stroke than their compression.

its hard to keep my head around the build it strong and let the turbo do the work concept. im trying to get away from the bigger is better mentality
thanx

Kevin 9.2 in iron can be very much like aluminum at 9.7-10.2. The additional boost you can run at 9.2 vs 10:1 more than offsets any gains from compression and not being able to run more boost.

Turbine choice is biggest player in response. Generally the current trend that seems to be giving best results is Big turbine, Tight AR, and Big enough waste gate(s) to keep pressure differential in check. Cam choices make a difference here as well... Talk to Mark at Bullet. Then there is electronic boost controllers that can aid with boost at launch... Dont know how serious you want to get.

BTW its not just stroke on those small Fords, displacement makes a difference more at lower speed than at higher when the turbo is spooled. Kind of hard to find enough exhaust at lower speed to drive the big compressors they run to make power. If they run a class that say allows a single 88... a motor with more cubes can get that compressor up faster. Maxed out both motors might make same power but the smaller motor is usually not coming up on boost as fast...

I run c-16 and yes with 525 cid it spools just fine and the lower cr gives you a larger tuning window.

8.1:1 over here.. JBP gaskets, dual o-rings, no head gasket issues ever. 15-17psi on the street with pump gas, 22-25psi on the track with avgas on my best pass.

I run 8.7-1 pump gas water/meth inj. I have been up to 15psi. without issue. I wouldnt think e85 at 10-1 would be any problem. I say go for it!
