Thumbs down Fox Sports 1

Absolutely hate the new Fox Sports 1 network. To many oversized, over ego'd millionaire ex jocks in $1000 suits talking about stuff I care nothing about.
What's a good place to finds mostly car stuff on the tube? Live streaming? Anything?

I'd leave Speed TV on most all the time in he garage regardless of what type racing was one, today I just turned it off after the ESPN race.

Do you get Velocity on your system? I stopped watching Speed a long time ago. Sounds like it's even worse now.

I changed the channel to that when it said Speedchannel is now Fox Sports.
It was supposed to have something on that I wanted to watch.
It had some crap like Sports Center?
Bunch of crap on.

I changed to something else and probably won't be watching it anymore.

Speed is still alive and intact in Canada. The US can't get it though.

Speed Channel is why I ran 120' of PVC encased underground DTV cable to my garage a few years ago. Talk about a let-down.

Yeah WTH? The new channel is horrible. And my cable doesn't have Velocity. Sounds like something I'd like.

Is that new programing or just reruns of old programing? I've read that even some cable companies in the US that aren't carrying Fox Sports 1 are carrying reruns of Speed instead.

During Nascar today Darrell Waltrip said that Speed will stay as is in Canada, even gave their channel for Direct tv.

Fox bought Speed Channel to be a direct competitor to ESPN. Instead of a startup channel it was cheaper to buy an existing channel and Speed was available. They are not looking to keep the market that was tuning in to Speed but instead cut into ESPN's. Speed has become stale the last few years which I believe was due to a lack of resources. Velocity was much better and hopefully will continue to grow now that it is owned by Discovery.

I have the DVR set for way to many show on Velocity. I love that channel. Rumor has it that Dana Mecum owns a chuck of that channel just to have a place to broadcast his auctions. Anyone here about this?

Speed sucked anyway. No loss here. But where are we going to watch all the millionaires through their money around at overpriced dream cars every January from Scottsdale?

Same here. I don't like it at all. I have no idea who is going to carry the ARCA races now and no more My Classic Car or Gearz, two shows I enjoyed on Sunday mornings. Being a big fan of NASCAR I did catch part of the truck race yesterday but don't care about any of the other programming. If I cared about baseball, football or any other sport it would be different or just catch it on ESPN, but I don't, I always liked my racing and likely always will.

Maybe we could send emails to Velocity to pick the up? It would be far better than watching re-run after re-run of Overhauling

I think the problem stems from Fox has gotten really huge and they are growing to fast and furious [NO PUN!] INTENDED I am going to miss speed channel like to watch My classic car GEARS DRAG RACING just hope some station will rescue these programs I will miss JAY LENO with all his automotive toys expertise.

My Classic Car is moving to Velocity Channel starting January 2014

http://www.myclassiccar.com/blog/201...car-is-moving/

This is what is on the Gearz site so far

August 15th will be the final day that you will able to see GearZ on SPEED. We will be making an announcement this fall, on where you will be able to see the new season. Until then, you can see all our previous episodes HERE. You can also get all the latest info, and behind the scenes news on our Facebook Page.

I watch Velocity way more than speed. Speed was getting way out of hand with commercials. As far as B.J. Auction, I watch them on the net, no commercials, no listening to the lousy commentators, just watch the cars go across the block and listen to the auctioneer, never miss a car all weekend long.

The problem I see with the major sports networks showing racing is IMO, the average race/car show viewer won't sit through the race or show and leave it on the stick and ball talk shows that follow. They'll either watch and change the channel or like me just turn it off completely because all the self promotion they do is so annoying.
And what's with that Da-dada-Daaa at every freakin break on every Fox sports show, including Football on regular Fox? Talk about annoying.
I did get a chuckle when they ran a commercial for ESPN on FS1, must have been a hold over from the Speed contract.

I turned it on velocity yesterday for awhile, so far just some garage doing resto work under perceived impossible deadlines and budgets, same old format, behind, problems, etc... and ZOOM, finished up just in time. Some nice work in the end but the format is old. Haven't checked out the other shows yet, but at least it has promise.
