GTOGeorge really likes is TH210 from rossler. Behind his blower engine it is holding up well I believe.

Hey Tom. Just got my trans and converter. Used ATD up is Germantown,WI. there local and have talked to Charlie up there, He's done tranny for some of the guys i race with. Think he put me together a really nice Trans and Converter. Just wondering what guys are running on here in their cars. I'm running a custom built turbo 400 with a 1.86 first gear set, and custom 9 inch converter.

With a 1.86 first gear what are the gear ratios for 2nd and 3rd?

Wouldn't just running a taller rear gear do about the same thing?

actually you'd want to run a smaller rear gear to soften. which i'll probably have to drop also depending on MPH and rpm i want to end up with. trying to soften it up out of the hole, taking advantage of the torque. Alot of guys dont agree with my train of thought. But time will tell on how the car runs. I know i still going to have to tinker to get it running the way i want it. Just hoping to do it on the Ladder bar set up i have, else will have to back half to 4 link next winter. when other changes are also planned.

Who offers this gear set?

This would be great with a valve body that offers a 2nd gear leave option off the brake, I could leave in 1st on tracks that could handle it...

It would be worth putting the glide back on the shelf...

BTE now has a 2 speed th400. You can use the transbrake in 2nd gear.

My t400 is set up with the second gear leave as well. I bought mine from JW last year, they made me a great deal while I atteneded the SGMP race in Feb. Its rated to 2800hp, has the 300m shafts, rear needle bearing support, pro brake, etc....

I have only tested with a lower HP engine so I dont have anything offer on reliabilty. But it was obvious how well it calmed the car down.

Any good trans shop should be able to do it for ya. The 1.86 gear set is a bit pricey thou. looking about $3k just for it. so doing it right trans will end up being around 5500-6500 with all the High HP parts.

Yeah, I could buy the valve body separate and make a 2speed 400, I'm wanting to have the first gear option using a different VB.
