Default Pitman Arm #?

Hi Guys,
Anyone got the correct MOOG or Federal Mogul part number for a Pitman Arm, 1968 Firebird 400 with power steering? Original GM number is 9791825A.
Thanks,
Greg

If you need the long pitman arm (5.8", vs the 5.25" short), I used Moog K6582. It was under $60 off Amazon, and is currently working great on muh bird. My 67 with PS had the long arm.

Here's a link that I've used a number of times for 1st gen steering info.
http://www.pozziracing.com/camaro_steering.htm

It says K6151 for the short arm, which goes for around $70 on Amazon. Read the Pozzi site for measurements. It seems there was a few different configs, some used during the same model years.

Talking pitman arm

Don't know if you need straight or curved for yours. But I just installed a curved style
arm from NAPA and worked great. The straight arm was hitting my new pypes mandrel bent
head pipes.

Gerry
factory only used curved ones for V-8s
the straight ones were OHC-6s

Thanks for the input guys. As I understand it, the straight pitman arm is for the 6 cyl. cars. My Pitman arm is curved, which is correct for P.S. V-8. I have a MOOG number of K6151, but I don't have a visual of it. I just don't want to get into the order-return-order-return mess, I'm sure you've all been there before.
Thanks, Greg

Default curved pitman

i been lookin for a curved pit for a manual box. the best price i've found is from carpartsdiscount.com. the part # is 35815 for the ps pit--price $106.85 + freight. most other places that list the curved one sell em for about $140 +. this place shows that they have at least 10 in stock. no manufacturer is named. i think they are all made by rareparts in cal. not sure tho. didn't check with napa. in my neck of the woods they are the highest priced parts. if ya'll find a better price on a curved pit for manual please let me know! thanks.

Default napa number

RPC 20798 is the number and it was around 150.00. had to have it since straight arm
was hitting the downpipe. It did come in a rare box though.

maybe i'm the last 2 find out--but i just left a site advertised in HPP mag called ecklersfirebird.com. they show a curved pit for $60+ freight! #75-14640 the pic & description look right for a 68 w/ps & v8. don't take my word for it tho--check it out--it may be a mirage!
