Default Which year Judge is most popular?

My friend seems to think that the '69s are more popular. I always had the impression that the facelifted '70s were somewhat sleeker and sexier to most people's eyes.

Me? I can't really decide which I prefer - I veer back and forth, but the '69 is the one that originally caught my heart, and you can't go wrong with hidden headlights.

So, objectively, which one do you think is more popular - not what YOU like better but, rather, the general consensus with Pontiac people ('69?) and car fans ('70?) alike.

For a long time, the 1969 model attracted the most press and did very well in auctions. About 4 years ago, more attention was given to the 1970 model and the last hurrah for the Ram Air IV engine. Lately, the 1971 Judge has taken a sharp rise in valuation. Personally I find they're a bit over the top in appearance but like the 1971 model the most.

1969 is the most popular objectively. Most ink coverage over time, highest valuation over time, most cultural references and relativity in 1969 and later. Strongest tie in with John DeLorean. No question about it.

You can barely give away a 70 right now...the market is horrible for them.

70 is my favorite year.

Having a chance to drive around all three years, and see peoples reactions. 69 is most popular by far. But, since my 69 is LB many ask why isn't it orange.....

The 70 is another popular one with people. but again pales to the 69, and the 71 is my favorite for driving reasons. Still, many don't know what year it is and the whole Judge thing eludes them too.

Looks and design the 69 is also nice on eyes, and so different from 70 too.

I personally like '71 myself. I doubt I'll ever get to own one though.

I like the 69 Judges the best. They were the originals, the first 2,000 being Carousel Red was a marketing homerun as everyone identifies with an Orange Judge.

I'm heavily biased towards the 71s but found Mike's observations to be interesting. His collection is amazing and judging from public reaction that he has witnessed - would agree that the 69 most likely draws the most favorable reaction.

Default 69

69's hands down. owned 2 originals, ra3 & a ra4, current is a driver/racer un-original. everyone seems to identify with them more from the reaction iv'e received. speically when leaving a chevelle behind on the unspecting street race!

Default 69 4ME

To me a 69,I don't own one but back in 1977 I had a friend in Gloversville NY owned a green 4speed one and I fell in love with the Judge.
He later traded it in -in 1978 for a 1974 455 SD TA auto trans, dark blue.

I have owned a 69, but today, I'd want a 70, as it is a bit more outlandish with the bigger eyebrow stripes.

Please point me to 70's that are being given away.

69, 71, then 70 for me, although most everyone that sees a picture of my 69 CR Judge usually think its the General Lee car from Dukes....

'69 is no doubt the most popular in general, but I prefer the '70. I'll take mine black with white interior.

It's the drivetrain, color combo, and options on individual cars that get me more than the specific year. Some killer ones in each of the years of production...
