Default Spark plug wire holders

As I recall on a 68 V8 engine there were at least 5 perhaps 6.

There are 2 which look like trees that each hold 4 wires (per side) as the wires come off of the top of the distributor. These are the same, right and left and mount on the the last holes near the intake manifold. One side may actually mount underneath the last bolt for the intake. The other ones mount on the head and underneath the valve cover bolt(s).

This is a set off a 68 GTO laid out the way i removed them from the motor. I noticed in the diagram Peter posted the front looms are reversed side to side.

They way Fred has them laid out is correct. The front passenger side loom attaches to the valve cover bolt rather than the head - at least on an A/C car like mine. The two on the driver's side attach to the head.

Default 68-9 Vs. 1970

My post above, the 2nd photo is actually for a 1970. It was the only jpeg I could find. I agree with Verdoro 68 statement:

Right rear (passenger side) to the last rearward intake manifold bolt.

Left rear to the cylinder head just behind the intake manifold

Not sure if mine are mounted the correct way, but I used the last bolt hole on the head rather than an intake manifold bolt.
