Smile Keisler RS 600

my rs 600 was delivered monday as promised !

no issues with the order

good communication...ie. emails answered promptly/ unsolicited updates

chris hale and ben dehaven were very helpful and great to work with !!!

when new motor comes, the plan is to install in one assembly. will update when that

is done.

Iv'e got my eye on the 700 in another year or so. It's nice to hear Keisler is getting their **** together. They were a customer service mess according to the boys on PT.com. Please keep me/us updated on how it runs, shifts, installs, etc. Theres supposed to be no cutting the floor at all correct?

i was kinda worried about it, after the tko 600 thread . but decided to go with keisler

because i didnt want to get into any floorpan cutting and with the RS 600 you dont have to.

i will definately update when i do the installation !!!

I do think keisler is trying to better their customer service.

I also have my eye on upgrading my TKO to a SS700. I need to lick my wounds for a bit from the body work

I ordered a SS700 back on August 6 with a delivery date of mid October. I recently received one of Keisler's update emails that postponed it to late November-early December. I believe the update mentioned something to the effect of temperature issues with the SS700 and was scheduled for more testing. I figured the TKO 600 was a little less risk until some 700's hit the streets. Tired of waiting I switched the order to the perfect fit TKO 600 about three weeks ago. According to Jeff at Keisler the RS is a reman so I went with the perfect fit. Well, I received and email from UPS on Friday that my trans has shipped and I will receive it by EOD on Tuesday. I am in the process of clearing my schedule so as to start the install. I hope to have it in by the weekend but that is probably optimistic. It's going in a running driving car. I would rather have the 700 however a bird in the hand is worth two in bush. The release could go on into next year knowing how these guys have operated in the past. Chris and Jeff have been beaten to death, yet maintain a great attitude.
Customer service with me has been stellar!! I hope these guys continue on an upward trend.

You'll love the TKO.

David,
Which 600 did you go with(which over drive). What rear do you have and what RPM are you at, at 70?

I have the .64 OD. Rear end is a 3.55 and cruising at 70 gets me about 2000 rpm. With this 400 a 3.73 would be better for getting it moving. 455 taking shape for install in a couple of months.......

Yes, seems with all the calculating I've done 3:55 seems to be ideal. They don't make a 3:55 for my rear end, so my choices are 3:42 or 3:73. I think my best bet will be with the 3:42.

3.42 is going to be pretty tall when just moving it around the drive-way.
I'd look a little closer at 3.73's myself. After I install my 455 I may swap to a 3.73.

If I go to 3:73 that's gonna put me too close to what I have now which is 3:08 within a couple hundred rpm which would defeat what I am trying to accomplish which is to cruise at 75-80 at like 2200-2300 rpm.

You'll get your wish on the upper end but down low you'll be slipping the clutch a lot.

Well I'll be going from 2:52 1st to 2:87 plus 3:08 to 3:42. I'm thinking that would do the trick! It's tolerable now.
