Boater Bill and his Bird in the News today!
I got an odd phone call last Sunday night after dinner from the Auotomotive editor of the Sun Newspapers in Charlotte and Sarasota counties. He was doing an article profiling a 78 Firebird and wanted a companion car to go with it. He went to the car show registry at Musclecar city and noticed our 68 Bird. He asked Rick Treworgy, the owner of Musclecar city if we would be a good choice for the article. Rick's reply was to get in touch with me and I have a pretty good story. So the newspaper editor wanted me at Musclecar city in 30-45 minutes for a photoshoot and interview, barely enough time for a dust off detail on the Bird. We took pics in front of Musclecar city and did the interview.
Today, I drove the Bird to Punta Gorda and bought a couple of copies of the newspaper. I then went to Musclecar City to thank Rick for his recommendation. I can't find the article online, so here it is scanned for you reading enjoyment! The author is tough to follow at times and didn't have everything right. but the readership is still getting to know the story and some of the miracles we have seen in a few short paragraphs anyway.
