New combo first runs ye ha!
Finally got me new combo to the track. 3,700 lb 69 Gto full trim street car drivin' 25 miles one way to/from the track.
Jeff/Shaker455 was a great help in getting the car right in short order on a very hot humid kansas night at test and tune. first run was a 12.66 at 109, called Jeff as he had set up my 1050 quick fuel carb and he dialed in my timing and jet changes in short order! result was a 11.99 at 115mph heres the results, 60' times are off but that's under diagnosis. still a lot of fun beings a casual racer. can't help but wonder how much faster the car will be getting it right? thoughts? 12.66 at 109, 1.9545 60ft 12.62 at 111, 1.9528 60ft shaker455 called...lol 11.99 at 115, 1.8281 60ft 12.07 at 115, 1.9024 60ft 12.00 at 115, 1.8253 60ft 12.05 at 115, 1.8365 60ft 60ft times buggin me! |

Wow.. great times for those 60 fts... My 12.70 street car will 60 ft 1.65-1.70 with the drag radials and 400 cubes and a 3.73 gear. Your ride still has a load of potential I'd say. Congrats

Good ET's!
What kind of tire/slick are you running? For 1st time out with it, not bad. Definitely will be quicker with more testing/tuning.

It's all here: """"".butler race port 85cc round port e heads 308cfm @ .600, port matched victor intake with 1" wilson tapered spacer, 4150/1050.""""""
What was Initial ADV & Total ADV, or was timing locked-up at TOTAL ADV? What Octane fuel did you run? Great MPH for the 1st time out. Time to focus on suspension

What's your shift point?
Have a pic of an ET slip? I'd say a higher stall converter would help a lot.

Pretty "soft" 60' times for the combination of parts. It should EASILY go in the 1.7's if not 1.6 60' times with that gearing/converter.
Tune is still off some, IMHO, and must have been WAY off the mark to find 6 tenths and 6 mph and not much change in 60' times. I'd keep hammering away at the tune as well, and working on launch technique, getting heat in the tires, etc, to get the 60's times down some. A 3000 flash converter should do fine for what you are doing. Unless you've already tried it, I'd try leaving off idle to help it lift the car and hit the tires harder, in lieu of loading it up on the starting line.......Cliff

You may want to make mention that you uncorked your headers at the track and didn't mention that until the next day. Yeah.. that can throw the tune off a bit..... But that's okay you called after the first run and you saw lean plugs... We were in process of jetting up until it slows....night goes fast.

Leave the exhaust on if it's tuned for it. I love the sound of my cars exhaust through the pipes going downtrack... Not a hp killer either...
