Just thought i would add. My good freind painted the Car for me, and it
really came out nice, but we have to wait a few weeks to really detail it and
get it to really shine. 25 separate pieces were painted He used the LP
HVLP system, with their Ultra series Admiralty Blue Paint. What you see
is three stage wet sand, and compond only. Most of the Body work is mine
with both Quarters and Tail panel all replaced. Car was a very rare Basket
case when purchased, so this is a big day after 3 years of welding grinding and
sanding. I will add one final thought. After going through this and being
invloved in all but the spraying, anyone that thinks its easy or cheap is in
for a big surprise. Paint guys have all of my respect, especially those that
are will to take on these old projects.

Oh, you can't see it real good, but in the left Bay in the Pic is a 67 GTO HO
Lindin Green with Black vinyl Top and Interior. Originally a 400 HO 3 speed
Manual post Coup, it now sports 455/M20 combo. Thats next in the booth,
but it was pretty neat with these two very rare Pontiacs side by side. Outside
the shop is a 65 Mustang Vert, but it will wait till the pontiacs are treated first.

That's my second favorite shade of blue Congrats! I'm slowly working on mine. It definately isn't easy and it aint cheap. You deserve a lot of credit for saving one that would have otherwise been parted out.

Thanks Everyone for the nice comments. Trim Rings, rocker Moldings and
wheel well moldings will be installed. Also came with the side strip option
but debating to add them. The Pic is just pulling it out of the bay
so we have some work to do. This is a Documented L75/M21 Car so the
decision to save it was pretty easy for me. Admiralty Blue with Custom Saddle
is original, and this is the only Bird ive every seen with this combo. My be
Gentle comment was intended to be a little Humble. There are some crazy
nice Cars on this sight. Three years, trained myself to weld, and sanding till
my shoulders hurt, so Sunday was a very large day. Looking forward to
relaxing Mornings with Coffee while detailing the Car. More Pics to follow
as i know they are like candy for everyone.

Actually, I like the 73's side stripes....really accentuates the body lines. It'd set off the dark blue nicely.

Thanks Importsmasher. One thing we did find about this color is how much
paint was needed to cover. We had to put 3 to 4 coats (depending on where)
to get full cover with good even metalic. We also put extra clear on to allow
for all the sanding and componding we assumed it would need. None of this
may be a concern in a proper paint booth, but my paint bill was much higher
than i expected.
