Kickback? Been there done that. The recovery is more painful than the injury.

Wow! That's a nasty one there.

I think about that every time I use them. I always said that they were very unforgiving(wood saws), and that I'd rather cut steel with a grinder any day - then I had a cutting disk shatter and kick the grinder into my other hand, taking a huge chunk out of my knuckle and nearly revoming my whole knuckle. I still fear wood saws more though.
Glad for you that they're all still there.

Question

Any nerve or tendon damage?

And I hope a hand surgeon sewed that up, not an ER doc?

Ouch! Hope it heals well.

Like my Machine shop teacher (an old ww2 Navy guy) said: "Boy! That blade don't give a **** if it's steel or you. It'll cut just the same."

That is a bad looking cut. Do as bob said, That could bother you for years to come if not done right. Good luck.

I can only imagine how expensive these are, but the safety of these table saws are amazing!

I took the tip off of my left index finger two years ago. It healed up fine but it still is numb and tingley. Nothing left to sew back on.

Damn son, that had to hurt like hell, glad to see they are still on there.

After I closed my business the first thing I did was sell my Radial Arm saw. That sucker scared me more then any other power tool I own!

WOW glad your semi ok! Table saws are dangerous but I think a band saw is worse.
I had a table saw kickback a piece of trim and shoot it through a 1" thick concrete wall with wire mesh in it an it stuck half way through a block wall across the hall.
I had just changed up where I was standing a few seconds earlier. If I hadn't moved it would have went right through me....

Ouch. How about this?

Kickback about 6 weeks ago... Hand surgeon fixed it up. No tendon damage. Fingertips are not numb, but the area is still numb but they say that having feeling in the finger tips means there's a good chance that full feeling will return.

Holy crap! I'd say both of you guys are freeking lucky you still have fingers and a hand left.

I've seen worse, but not but by much.... and that was a loss of fingers. We called the guy Nub after that. It wasn't funny I know but at least he took it in stride.
