Default 49 Pontiac coupe coming home

I was going through the Hamb for sale ads when a 49 Pontiac club coupe caught my eye
since i have a 50 Olds 88 club coupe also i thought it was getting lonely so after looking at the photos made a call
i'll be going to Michigan to pick it up in the near future

here it is stock Straight Eight stick California car

down the road it might get a 389 & automatic
but first things first get it home and drive it

Wow, what a find.
Are those Pontiac hub caps on the front, they look like cadillac's, from here...

That is very nice. Even has the 'light-up' Indian head hood ornament that's still intact, and looks to be in very good shape. on a great find 61 Cat. And for saving another Pontiac.

Looks complete. What sort of running shape is it in? Any story on its history?

I really like those coupes. Is it a business coupe or does it have a back seat?

Thumbs up Great Lines...

My Friend Paul owns the dark blue one.
He has taken it from VA BCH to NY for his annual school reuion for the past few years.

The Brown one was at the Wings & Wheels show and was a great looking Pontiac!

Then there's another around that is a twin to Pauls but it's a beater at best,
however Paul said it has the HI-PO straight 8 that he would love to put it in his.

Best of luck with her!

well what i've been told it's from California not sure what part
the car runs that straight rattles on start up then quiets down
and runs smooth maybe valves??? steering is tight and
needs the seats recovered, sticking with the original bench seat
i believe he said it has a rear seat

get the brakes working good and go for a drive before the weather
gets nasty

might go with a light cream or grey
kind of the way the car looks
a solid color, of course the is subject to change

Jeff that is a sweet coupe your friend Paul has very nice

Congratulations on your new project!

I brought this one home back in September:

1950 Silver Streak that my Dad took in on trade from the original owner back in 1968. He sold it to my older brother who was still in college at the time. I drove it when I was 15...

It had been parked and stored since 1972. A new battery, 6 spark plugs and a fan belt and I had it running (not well, but running)...

More photos and details in the '61 and Older Forum here:

61 Cat,

Nice find. It was only up there for a day and a half before I saw someone post they would take it.

P.S.
Those mods on that board are brutal. My one and only introduction post with car picture was deleted. I have no idea why.

SWEET RIDE!! I have never heard one of those run. Love to see a close up of the hood ornament too. These cars wear on you and win your heart!. Are there brake upgrades for these cars?
