Default getting zapped

I try to set the timing on my distiributor but I keep getting zapped. I have to put on working gloves to set timing, whats causing this problem never done it before.

Bad ignition wire or boot.
Need to find which one and fix that 1st.
Replace whole set if thier old.

Take a spray bottle of water and mist the cap while the engine is running in a dark garage. You should see the arcing. Sounds like some bad wires.

I can't say I ever used a spray bottle.I have always assumed water and electricity were a bad thing when applied together.A dark garage or outdoors you should see and arcing coming from the wires.

x2 on bad boot installed new set and nicked one just a little and by the time i had the timing adjusted correctly i got shocked so many times i was scared to touch it at all
