Cool, I'm a little partial to 66's. Any more pics, and what are your resto/restification plans?

Well it is in suprisingly good shape. A little rust in the front floor board so I have new metal for them. All other rust has already been taken care of years ago and was garaged for the last 11. I need to repaint a few thing inside back parchment to match the new interior I have. previous owner painted it all black. New top of course since this one is holey. The convertible frame is in great condition. I guess you could say I'm making it a driver. I will pull the engine and trans and repaint clean up along with firewall and fenderwells that are near perfect. I don't think it's gonna be a body off as it was well undercoated and well it's still well undercoated. Complete front end rebuild with poly bushings and disc brakes. Everthing pulled off will be blasted and painted. After the front end is done I'm gonna pull the rear end and clean polish and paint it and repair anything needed. New exaust. Everything on the car works as is if you can believe it. Then I'm gonna start on the body work. Once it's done if I can't get my inlaw to paint it I will do it myself. Nightwatch blue. Then install the new top (white) and interior (parchment). And put as many miles on it as I can. I want to install the rally pack gauges but that will be later. A good solid cruiser that I can be buried in. At one point someone really cared for the car. The last owner threw a horrible paint job on it but he actlly did more good then bad. He painted EVERYTHING so nothing rusted. He even painted the chrome, thank goodness he didn't sand it first. I like looking at show cars. I LOVE drivers. One fender needs replaced as I'm not sure I can save it (pass side front) rest is pretty darn straight.

Nightwatch Blue with Parchment top and Interior is a striking color combo. AND it's a 66! Looks like you will have a great car for years to come. Welcome to the Forum.

Welcome to the Forum. Glad to see another Lemans owner. Most here seem to be GTO owners. A lot, but not all, of the info transfers to the Lemans/ Tempest models. Many here are very quick and ready to help with info and parts.

Do the inner tie rod ends have the grease fitting on the end or the back? If it's on the back that will present a problem when trying to grease the joint.

fyrffytr1 90's will take care of that problem. The tie rods, center link, idler arm and ball joints are from speedway motors. The pitman had to be reamed to the correct size as the joint there bigger than stock but then again the steering arms had to be drilled to half inch too.

Almost back together. upper a frame adjuster nuts and shims then sit it back on all 4.

Front end back together and sitting on all 4 again. Front springs should settle a little and I still have to install new on the rear but so far I like it. Think the wheels look good to but I may be biased. Like the tire size too. 225 60 15's all the way around.

Looks very good to me, too. That's going to be a very nice car. Congrats on a "rolling resto". Neither of mine have ever been apart, either. They're meant to be driven!!!

Ok Got the last few parts I was waiting on. Started bleeding the brakes. And to my suprise I needed a new Master Cylinder. Yeah I know. Anyway started looking. Decide on a Disc brake one from a 74 firebird. Bolt it on Fill it up. Bleed it out and went for a short Drive. PERAFLIPPIN GRIN.. Even if I put less than a mile on it. Speedo Works. Brakes work. Trans shift's great. Have a slight wiring problem due to the "alarm and kill switch" the original owner "installed" Probabally why he parked it. It's not charging the battery so with these little problems I haven't been father than walking distance. SO it starts, sounds solid, trans works, brakes work. Next will get the electrical problem fixed. Rebuild alt, replace regulator. And do a longer shake down run. So many things to repair, but NOTHING will compare to the first drive.
