Default All Pontiac Aluminum Race Blocks

Well I took a drive today out to the block machining company to inspect the new All Pontiac Aluminum Race Blocks being done here in Michigan.

Initial Inspection of the basic block says that All Pontiac knows how to cast up an aluminum block. Why would anyone think otherwise?

Should be able to post some initial pics tomorrow but I do not think the pics will do justice to the block.

I understand the max bore is 4.35". Pretty much any aftermarket aluminum block will have a .030-.050" smaller max bore than its iron equivalent.

Max Racing bore is 4.350 may be 4.375

Our wall thickness are massive to say the least. They are over a ½ inch thick.

The lines are from core shift. The mill cut a little material as it came down one side. There is nothing wrong with this process. The bores are so close to the wall and it is because our valley walls are so thick we sometimes see this happen.

Here is a raw casting back view. Look at the extra webbing.

Bob - -do you remember what size those lifter bores were??? and any answer to the liner question?-- I dont mean to start anything - but if that core shift - it seems like a fair amount ???

Bob, it looks to be a very nice piece of work. Any idea what the deck thickness is?
