Talking CV-1 Turbo track outing today!

Ok so here it is.

Went to track for 2 reasons.
1. test and tune
2. Get licenced
Was able to make 4 runs before track was shut down for rain delay.

First run was to the 330 mark and shut down( to license)
Second 1/2 track
2 3/4 track runs as follows
1st-11.0 at141mph
Ran a 10.0 at 135 mph

Then lined up to get out of the tens, making the two 9 second and below license runs... and then the rain hit. Damn it!

Oh yeah that was only on 4.5 pounds of boost!!

The car hooked pretty well, as I was both on the foot brake and t brake.
I need another day to get the carb and electronics dialed in the way it needs to be.

This set up has more than enough power to set it deeep into the 8's for sure.

I am trying to get some of the videos posted up. Stay tuned.

I am truly impressed and happy with the performance of the car today. When that turbo kicks in it's like a 300 pound weight pushing you into the seat. G forces are addictive.

Turbo, turbo, turbo!!!

What were your 60' and 330 incrementals on the 10.00 134 run?

Is this a Cal trac car?

Good thing you have alot to feed the power/speed addiction for awhile!

Great job but you have along way to go before you will ever see low 8's.Not saying it's not possible but 1,400 hp to the wheels is what you need at that weight. Trust me it's not easy.Good Luck I will be cheering you on.

Interesting increments, last weekend I was running a 150 shot, 461 e head, 3600 lb

60 1.525
330 4.189
1/8 6.443 109.23 MPH
1000 8.412
1/4 10.086 133.90 MPH

Looks like your setup was pulling harder for sure!

Thanks,
Oh I agree totally. There is enough Hp to handle it with the boost turned up. But that is along way from today. Just fun getting back on the track.

Remember that I lifted and coasted through way before the end of the traps.

Nope, stock suspension with South side machine bars and the exception of moving the shocks inboard. Contemplating the options for over the winter.

Had fun today Rob. Good to see you making passes in that beast for a change instead of ripping it apart and rebuilding it! Sorry I had to bail early. As it turns out, I could have stayed longer and seen the real passes. My daughter's friggin flight was delayed an hour and she didn't end up showing up till almost 7 PM instead of 5! Grrrrrrrr. It was good to be at the track and smell some burnt rubber and c16. Hopefully, next time we can both be laying down 9 second passes or better...

Here is an I pHone video of the 10 run.

Notice how easy I launched it. Listen to the turbo "whistle".

get the 60' down to the 1.40's and you should be in the 8's no problem.
