Default Bought a 05 gto Wednesday

Decided it was time to buy a "practical" daily driver. When I thought about everything I wanted in a car, they all pointed to a gto. Phantom black metallic, black interior, auto, 85k miles. One owner car, no mods. Love it. I'll post pics later.

400hp and 20mpg is a no brainer especially for what you can buy one for now. Bang for the buck, more like explosion for the buck.

They are practical. Decent ride, brakes, and has a trunk. I've got an 04 as my dd and am quite satisfied with it. Enjoy!

I've punched it a few times the last few nights. It kicked up to 5500rpm in a flash and started chirping tires with the traction control on. Friend of mine is a die hard ford guy. Took him in it last night and scared the crap out of him. Said he had no idea why those things didn't sell.

Lots of people have ignored these cars primarily because of its design, and that it doesn't possess a traditional Pontiac engine. But to drive one is to LOVE One. I've owned my '04 for over six years and my '06 for nearly four years now, and I'm still not ready to part with either of them. My '72 still generates more inquisitive onlookers, but the later Goats are FAR more fun to drive, and never got the credit they deserve.

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the herd. I sold my very first GTO two years after I bought it, and I won't make that mistake again.

Go get a tune on it and get ride of the torque management.

Congrats. I'm getting close to pulling the trigger. There is a '06 spice red 6spd w/21k miles on it near me for only $16K.

I bought an 04 three years ago for my business car and love it! Never was sold on the looks to much but the performance, handling and quality far make up the difference! I didn't drive it long for work due to the 6 speed which was difficult in the DC traffic but decided to keep it for a toy.

"Supposedly" today I'm selling 05 GTO with 5,408 miles for $19,000 cash. Car has been in Auto Trader for about a month. Lots of tire kickers so we will see if this guy shows!!

It has to be a record, 15 posts and not one saying the car isn't a real GTO and it has a chevy engine in it (which it doesn't) and I'd never own one of those. Or any of the other slams the 21st century GTO's usually get on here.

Dollar for dollar they're tough to beat for a late model high performance coupe that also happens to put a smile on your face every time you get in it. With nothing done to it most cars with a decent driver can click off 13.5 1/4 mile times and with a few mods 12 seconds is pretty easy to do. There sure seem to be more than a couple people that have changed their minds about the car after driving one.
