Default Cornering Lights '68 FB

I'm looking at buying a wiring harness for my '68 FB 400 and it looks like you can get them set up with and without cornering lights - what are these & what do they look like - my car has (I think) the standard turn signal housings which wrap around the corner of the fender - anyone have a picture of what are considered 'cornering lights' - thanks a lot.

The 68 model year had revised corner lighting from the 67's. The wrap around front corners and rear arrow head markers were to improve safety. I think that is what they are refering to.

Very early in the production of the '68 models there was a change from a two bulb setup to one bulb. If your front turn signals have one bulb, go with the "without cornering lights" harness.

I've never actually seen a two bulb setup, so I couldn't tell you what they look like.

Ahh very cool, never heard of that. But now that you mention that I just remembered there are also two different types of pigtail connections to the lamp housing (both for single bulb design), an early design and late design. I have one of each in my car but it was assembled from parts so it may not have been born that way. I know the late design connection is just like the 69 model pigtail. The early one is spot welded to the housing and the wires are literally tied in to the harness and wrapped in tape. That housing however, does not have a provision for a second bulb. That sounds like what they are refering to in that memo possibly.

I have not heard about the pigtail differences. I did buy a "with cornering lights" harness from a member before I realized I didn't have them. This is the brown wire referenced in the memo.

Very early cars used the 2 lamp design.
As near as I can tell it ended around Sept 67(68 model year).
I have had a couple with it.

And bird emblem on the glovebox?Small peg 1/4 louvers?

I took my lights out at a very early age and had them replated(before any rust got to them) They are stored....somewhere

It wouldnt be that hard to add a single bulb socket if you could find the right one.
