Someone is selling these as a lot on the net, but I'm only interested in the one or a repro of it, wondering what it's from to help ID it and buy one. Any idea?

Looks like a license plate surround...a mini version of the dealer's old sign logo on the buildings, it appears. Never see anything like it on a car.

The guy who's selling them lists it as an emblem off of a "40's" Pontiac, he said the fastener stems are broken off so I assume it's from a car unless he's wrong, have you ever seen anything similar, I'm looking for something like this its abt,. 5" long adn 1-1/2" high, wanna put it on my GTO.
