Default 12" Diesel stacks on YouTube

A couple of our guys put this up on YT for fun and we're taking some pretty good abuse. Do you guys think it's helping or hurting the Pypes name?

Chris, this is where I saw it earlier today. These guys (Autoblog) LOVED them.

http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/12/v...bless-america/

I think they are great. It's about living in America where if you want to do it, and it's within the law, you DO IT. It does not have to appease anyone else. Have fun with being the bad boys of diesel exhaust stacks!

Is that an actual product or just a fun diversion? I could see some of the kids with hopped up diesel trucks around here actually wanting to run those things.

Like David says, there's no such thing as bad press.

D*** IT! I have a 7 inch single on my truck and its ridiculously large. On the plus side of it I'm sure I could yank that truck all over the place if I had to hook up to it.

If you guys like these, you better not say anything about the kids with the big pipes sticking out the back of their Hondas.

For the short term your right. Long term it will be. PYPE's? Isn't that the retarded company with the 12" stacks. Why would I want that on my car?

I'll be right back. Got some Cherry Bombs to install on my GTO.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should!

Take them off.

Good for getting the name out, but may hurt in the long run. Almost as bad as huge fart cans on ricers. JMO.

Has a "looks impact".
Probably has its finest moment at Toll Booths.

May need the rain flappers to be taken seriously.

I suggest that such 12" items leave PYPES open to "performance" criticism".
Could protect the "PYPES PERFORMANCE Inc" image by alloting another divison name such as:

"PYPES FASHION" (or Fab)
"PYPES STYLE" (or Stylin)
"PYPES ACCENTS ((or Bling)

Never mind the video...the product hurts the company image. Diesel stacks on pickup trucks are ridiculous to start with...to make them from 12" stock (which doesn't enhance performance) is super-ridiculous. Dare I say they're about as ridiculous as those scrotum balls guys hang from the trailer hitches of their trucks. My 2 cents.

Glad I'm not the only one that cringes at those things...

Totally agree. I am sure these do nothing for performance vs a good traditional exhaust system and decrease the resale value of the truck. IMO these would cheapen the image of the company.

Obnoxious and inconsiderate, Dorks who rev up their diesels and blow that black smoke. Especially those with stock exhaust who blow that crap in someones open window

I do like the looks of the rest of the system below the stacks, looks nicely constructed.
The stacks don't do you any favors, and yes you need flappers.
