Default Poll: What insurance...

if any, do you have on your classic car(s), including those undergoing restoration?

I use Hagerty. I've had one claim and the service was great. Affordable rates as well.

Philadelphia Indemnity Ins Co. through Grundy Worldwide for my Lemans. Less than $200 per year for 20K of coverage... but never had to file a claim so I don't know how good a deal that may be.

I just switched to Hagerty too. Easy to deal with and they take stated value.

Do you have all three of your cars insured?

Have Hagerty on two cars - one driven and one being restored. The car being restored was driven then I changed its status to storage. No claims yet and I hope it stays that way. A friend had fire damage to his car and Hagerty took very good care of him - no complaints.

American Collectors Insurance. $37,000 agreed value for $250.00 per year. 5,000 miles per year. Had one small claim for $2,300. Didn't send an adjuster, just mailed the check based on the pictures the body shop provided. Also no deductible.

American Collectors Insurance, $16,000 agreed value coverage for my situation. $140/yr. The policy's agreed value increases by $500/yr. No claims.

Had Grundy but my agent switched me to Hagerty. It was less money and now my kids can drive the cars. Grundy does not allow under 25 drivers.

Talking American Collectors has been great.

American Collectors.

5K miles a year.12K agreed value. Including Fire, theft, glass, stereo, towing, mechanical repair, show fee reimbursement with a 500$ deductible.

Price 135$ per year. Including the "TLC" package. Which has a better towing plan.

Had one claim for towing when I broke a Bottleneck 3/8 Rocker arm stud. No hassles. Bill was 75$. They paid a 3rd of it. No questions asked.

I have to place another one for towing when the MSD crapped out. We shall see what they reimburse with the better package.

Dave

yes, I put all 3 on it, and I had American collectors. It was cheaper with the agreed value I wanted. You can get differing levels of insurance based upon the stage of restoration you are in.

What I liked about American collectors was that I could drive my GTO when ever/ where ever I wanted, year round. Depending what station I work at I used to drive the GTO to work on occasion. Hagerty's stipulation is the car is driven mainly for show/enjoyment. No real mileage constraints to my understanding, but I don't put that many miles on in a year.

Hagerty for 3 cars. I believe you can occasionally drive your cars to work but it can't be your daily driver.

Need to have another car registered for daily use and car must be garaged.

What I pay for three cars barely equals what I was paying for 1 car under the old insurance in MA.

Hagerty's for 10 years now, had one claim and they never raised my rates or gave me any hassle at all, allowed me to pick the shop of my choice for repairs.

I have Hagerty. Value 20K @ $208.00/yr. Zero ded. Occassional dirving only. Does anyone know if you can stipulate that if the car is totaled the owner gets the car (not towed away by insurer and parted)? If my car gets totaled I want 20K AND my wrecked car!
