Default 1968 - 69 Aftermarket fenders ?

Im debating on aftermarket Metal front fenders for my 68, Has anyone tried them yet? How is the fit? My fenders are not bad except they were patched B4 and will need to redo the lower rear dogleg. Id hate to get a blister a year from now, Whats your thoughts?

they are so terrrible, that the last time i tried to use them, we ended up just cutting out sections to repair the originals.

Go with the patch panels. If done correctly, they will NOT have a tendency to have a paint failure in that spot any more than the rest of the car.The vast majority of paint blisters on cars can be attributed to a couple of reasons:rust left on the surface/improper surface or weld joint pre-treatment,or filling over holes with NO metal behind it,so the filler quickly absorbs moisture and bubbles.Haven't used the aftermarket fenders, but lots of guys like musclecollector have had NO good things to say about them.Even in the Ames catalog(gotta ADMIRE THIER HONESTY)it says"use only as a last resort".If they are selling them, and print that, that's enough for me.

Aftermarket fenders don't fit, have been in the auto restoration business 40 years. Patch your original GM fenders.

The aftermarket fenders can be made to fit, but don't really look the same. Fix yours if you can!
