Thumbs down PHS

I just received a packet from PHS for my 76 Trans Am and it was Terrible !!! Most of the order sheet was totally black and unreadable.. I know these things are getting old but to sell something for $50 and get crap is not right !! Just thought I would vent .

Give them a call back. You would think they would look at the paper before sending it out.

I got the PHS for my 76 T/A a few years back and some of the papers I got were the same as you describe. I was a little disappointed too, but I was able to glean out the info that I was looking for. I was thinking the same thing at the time; "how could someone take my $50 and send me some blacked out, unreadable pages?" I decided not to contact him and complain. Maybe I should have.

Cool It seems...

the F-body stuff is not nearly as detailed as the A-body stuff. Noticed that myself...but not sure why. I thought they left some things out myself. Just an FYI. Ron

I would strongly encourage you to call them on the phone. It seems to work much better than email, and I suspect PHS will work with you on a solution.

I don't think I've ever seen a '76 PHS doc, but sometimes when the copy isn't so good, it helps to compare it to a clearer copy.

The codes on my '64 Fremont Manifest PHS record were legible enough, but the base Form with Box labels and other pre-printed stuff was washed out. I got copies of more legible records and learned what was pre-printed on the Form from them.

You might try posting a copy of it here, perhaps in the 2nd gen Forum, to see if somebody could help you "translate" yours.

I have called them. I don't do mid 70s Firebirds but have obtained PHS documents on a '65 GTO and several early 60s big cars and they did a great job for me.

I would 3nd or 3rd or 4th those who suggested you call them.

My '66 GTO turned out great. I wonder if you could somehow scan the image and edit it in Photoshop or something to get the black out and the lettering beneath it to show up/through? Like an ink comparison?

Paul I don't understand this part about not being able to call? The number is on their website, 586-781-5164. I just called it and Jim Mattison himself picked up the phone. I told him about this thread and he went and got your file and he says the dealer sheet on his end is clear as a bell. He now has the file on the corner of his desk and is waiting for your call.
