Default Cowl Seal Clips

Does anybody have a source for the small square greenish colored clips that retain the cowl seal? The correct ones do not come with repop seals.

Website info would be great, and yes, I have checked our host and was unable to find them.

Anybody?

Junkyard.

Actually, I have seen the same green clips on other GM cars of the same era, not just Firebirds/Camaros.

As far as painting them, I found a Krylon Italian Olive Satin that is very very close (it is just a slight shade paler). Check Hobby Lobby or Walmart.

Can't paint what you don't have! Mine all fell apart when I replaced my cowl seal.

Not sure that these are up Craig's area of expertise.

Jim from Classic Olds has had these reproduced. I needed some for my 70 Judge & could not find them anywhere else either. As mentioned in earlier posts these are used on various other GM cars, it's just a crapshoot on what cars used them & where. On my Canadian built Judge they were used on the cowl seal & tail light mud guards yet other GTOs I have have of the same year used the plastic "T" clips.

His shop is in Clemmons, NC, phone # 336-766-7845. He is a GREAT guy to deal with!

Thanks Pure SD, with a few Oldsmobiles thrown in there for good measure.

Don't worry Bob I'm not going to get these before you, even though I live pretty much next door. Maybe I can repop this clip..

Default Well....

Are these the clips you're looking for?

If so no need to reinvent the wheel, just call Jim @ Classic Olds. Seems like they were .50 each when I got them from him last year.

Jim personally has a lot of parts reproduced for the 67-72 Olds 442 W30 cars such as tail light bezels, grills, lens etc. Everything he sells is first rate. These clips are exactly the same color & size as my originals.

Craig,
I don't know if he has a website although I usually see him at the larger shows in this area. I should see him at Charlotte in a few weeks & will ask then.

Probably easiest to just give him a call, either Jim or his wife should be there.

I called him the other day, very nice guy as you said. He was down to one or two clips in stock and was going to re-order another batch. He took my name/number and said he'd call when they were done. I told him there might be several others here on PY looking for sets as well but it would be a good idea to call him to show there is more interest for him to order more sets.

Bob,
I had seen Jim at Charlotte this weekend & he did have some of the clips I have pictured. If those are the ones you need I picked up another 20 of them @ $1.00 each.

He did say there was another style he was out of & waiting on, may want to make sure he's thinking of the same clip you're needing.

Hey Bob-

Where do you get the repop seal? I have a couple of bodys that have the clips in place. Do you think you could re-use originals if I can remove them from the cowl? They would be free....

Later-
