Talking 700R4 advice

I am looking at a few different "performance transmissions". One that has caught my eye is the Level 2 700r4 from Bowtie. Does anybody have any thoughts or opinions concerning Bowtie?

Better off with a 200-4R. 700's never came with a BOP bell. It would take a swap plate to make it work or a J&W ultra bell modified. 200-4r have a multi-bell (fits all GM products) that I feel makes it a better option.

Our mutual friend chris with the firebird up here in Mi called me today to tell me how much he liked our combined,"effort". He also said that you needed some back up for the 200-4R haters club. I'll try to keep it to a dull roar.

Ah...
I'm so swamped right now.
I spent all day running around picking up sheetmetal parts and restoration stuff for a '66 Mustang project, moved a set of the new L92 heads I've been selling, sold a LSx crate engine to deliver next week when I run to Houston, and I have the 200-4R that's going to Europe I need to get on the ball, finish building it tomorrow, and get it in car tested for shipment along with your converter.

Also have a 4L80E to build so I can test a valve body, my transbrake VB works great on one car and has major issues on the next, so I've got to figure out what I did different.
I'm sure it's a hole in the plate but it's not in my notes

I have everything I need for the 1200 RWHP 4L80E except a mainshaft and it should be here anytime.

Hired another guy for the shop today, he's got a fun week ahead of him.

I run a BTO level 3 200r4, their " Extreme "2600 rpm stall LU TQ ,deep pan behind a 428.

2000 miles so far lots of burn outs, a few hard top end runs.

I do need to add an extra cooler to help out the radiator cooler.

After 2 hours of driving it gets the trans temps to 180 degrees.

I also put close to 2500 miles on it when the lame 301 was in.
A total of 4500 or so.

No racing or huge tires, I run 255-50-17 now before that 275-60-15.

I could smoke either at anytime, temps would climb stay for a while at 240 then come down.

All in all so far no problems, great shipping and tech support.

There are other guys out that can build these with more personal attention .

BTO builds a decent unit as far as 700s go. They build a decent "stock" 200-4R but AFAIK they aren't using any billet components other than their house brand servo which is decent.
No good internals.
They aren't absolutely necessary at less than 400 HP, however at 400+ I like to use a billet forward drum.
I have quite a few 200-4Rs in the low 11's with no billet except the forward drum and servo, so they aren't all that weak but looking at a stock forward drum makes me nervous.
I've seen too many of them snapped off with near stock GN's and most failed while doing normal driving. Most had lots of abuse on them, but when they actually let go was something along the lines of ( I was pulling up my inclined driveway ), etc.

The stock input shaft seems pretty stout IME, and I have been able to keep clutches/bands in them no problems into the 10s so far.
And thats the Alto Reds, I think carbon based materials will be even better for the band and 3rds.
