Default 69 FB front disc upgrade

Hi,
i need to replace my 40 years old front disc on my 1969 firebird.
and i would like to upgrade to bigger/better brakes.
i think bigger disc with good pads
but better caliper ?

what do you use ?
give me your feedback and advice on what works for you

i have 17" wheels

17 inch wheels can be quite different. for example, with my 17's i can only fit the cpp 13 inch rotor/caliper combo and can't fit any other 13 inch rotors in there. most companies have a template you can print out and paste to some cardboard to check for clearance. the stock 11 inch rotor/single piston caliper does work very well, but may look puny if you can see them through the wheel. if you want to race on a road course, lots of aftermarket kits are out there. you can also go the cheaper route and use a hybrid kit that uses other vehicles parts.
