Default WTB: 67 GTO 4 SPEED CONSOLE WOODGRAIN BACKING PLATE

I need the metal backing plate that the woodgrain goes on for a '67 GTO or Lemans 4 speed console. I'm looking for one that isn't bent or kinked - I have one of those. I need just the front section but will purchase both the front and lid sections if necessary.

I'm also still looking for the console lid housing or frame for the same console.

Please email me at terryhaut@mchsi.com with any info.

Thanks! Terry

Terry, any progress with the laser cut pieces you were thinking of doing?

Hi Steve.

I put that on the far back burner for now. Didn't seem to be hardly any interest and I can't afford to invest that much money and sit on it. I would have thought there would be a need for those pieces, at least that's my experience from all the consoles I have bought. Every one I've gotten is rusted, dings everywhere, some holes, and quite a few with bends or kinks. I wish when somebody tries to take them off they wouldn't just get a prybar and start tearing the plates apart.

They are avaliable out of .020" aluminum with 3M adhesive backing. Contact PY, they can get them.

65 Wagon - Do you mean the RPI630V - 67 CONSOLE INSERT- MT kit? I was quite sure that is just the woodgrain and does not include the backing plates. Or can they get the backing plates separately and they're not listed in the catalog?

It may not be in their catalog. You might need to call them. Its made by the same manufacturer that makes the swirled aluminum console & dash inserts for the GTO's.

I contacted PY this morning and they said all they have is the RPI630V kit. It is a thicker vinyl that does not require a backing plate. They don't have any separate metal backing plates.

So I'm still looking for one. Anybody have one?
