Motor swap - need help - 75 455 into 69 GTO
I'm putting a 75 455 into a 1969 GTO. I've been looking for motor mounts, but seem to be running into a lot of "except 455" applications. I need motor mounts and frame mounts. Can anyone give me some guidance on what to get?
Thanks |

use 69 400 gto motor mounts and frame brackets they fit 455 engines just fine.Appparently the455 used later mounts and brackets from the factory.

I have a set of Big car mounts that I think will work if you want them? Let me know they are just collecting dust..........

Thanks for the advice. I was starting to get kind of nervous. I'll pick up some at the local NAPA. Shipping up here is a killer.

The 455 A-body cars did use a special wider frame mount and engine mount.
You don't need them though, any 326/350/389/400 A-body V8 mount will work as they're all the same from '64 -'72 and the same goes for the stamped-steel frame mounts. The Pontiac big car mounts won't work.

Heres what Ive seen, the mounts are the same except the 455s mount is about an inch longer front to back
either 400 or 455 will work but you have to match the shorter or longer motor mount to whatever the frame mount is, in your case the shorter 400 mount |

Thanks. I'll get the standard 69 GTO 400 parts. I appreciate the help.
Now, on to finding a flywheel and bellhousing local.... |
