Default New 1st gen hood

What do you think of this new hood. On my 69 it fit High Ports, victor, one inch spacer, 950 Holley and 4" air cleaner. It should be on the market by early February.

it looks like something i have been drawing up in my head, but EVIL! I have been thinking about buying a new hood, that would allow fresh air into the engine bay, but i dont want a big Racing scoop on the hood, and this looks like something that i might want to get!

will it be pin on only? or will it be able to be used with hinges?

It will come in both versions. the bolt on will NOT need hood pins. It will have a metal striker plate glassed in or riveted on.

Hmmm . . The front is pretty interesting looking. The back of the bulge needs a little something though. Looks a bit much for a street car.

goofy looking at least on that car would need to see it on a race car. I will be looking to do something for more clearance for my turbo car soon.

aybe if I see it on something else and it doesnt look so goofy Id do it.

It looks impressive. I want a TA style hood for my 69, but I think somewhere between the stock TA hood, and what you have made would be more my style.

I'm afraid I have no idea what goes into building stuff like this so forgive me if this is a stupid question, what does it take to make one? I mean is it a mold, or is it hand shaped?

Have you considered doing a wing for the back too? It would ofset that hood, like the 69 TA wing, but a bit more dramatic.

The hood is in white with blue strips now and on a 69. I'll post some pictures tonight.

Here are some on the 69. This is hand made and is the master, from here I will make a female mold and make the hoods in the mold. I wouldn't want to even guess at the time I have spent on this thing, but it looks PONTIAC and thats what I was going for. As soon as the mold is done the wing is next. Sorry for the quality of the pics.

Turbo69bird I think it looks a little goofy is because it is painted black so it really sticks out, and I don't think they look as good on the 67-68. I had just painted it black to look for flaws and rushed to posting to get some reactions on it.

I agree. Painted alone made it look good.

I also agree that you certainly made a hood that looks Pontiac. The fact that you built the hood yourself is impressive enough. I wish I had some sort of skill.

But you like this??? It has pro stock/dedicated race car written all over it. Appearance wise it reminds me of those god-awful (but functional) things Mopar used (you know, the things that looked like two coal shovels welded together and then turned upside down and bolted to the hood).

Like others have said on a race car - sure (function first appearance second). for the street - ugly.
