Default holley to rochester carb change

i just took off my holley carb on my 69 gp which is stock except for a new cam and lifters installed 200 miles ago.i had a pontiac performer intake with the holley and put the original intake along with a rochester four barrell back on the 400 motor.when i started the car it ran rough and when i shut it off it had pre ignition.my question is could the timing be off or is it possible i put a vacuum line on the wrong port? the rochester was sitting for about a year so i did not rebuild it

You've probably got a vacuum leak, somewhere. Did you use the right intake gaskets?

Need more info. When you say it ran rough, do you mean it idled rough? Or it ran rough all the time?
Was this the original carb or off something else? Card number?
What do you mean, 'the mufflers did not sound right'? Popping, backfiring?
There are more than two vacuum ports on a q'jet. Can you post pics of the carb?
