Default Glove Box Door 69 GTO

The plastic hinge strip on my glove box door broke completely in two. Is this part reproduced? If not, can I fix this with maybe a piano hinge or something similar?

Thanks, Bill

I just fixed mine with a piano hinge, had to cut down one side of the hinge, and had to screw the hinge to the metal(inside)past of the door.can't tell from the outside, looks original until opened,(should even be tough to notice when opened)will never have to worry about it again.BTW,to the best of my knowledge, they are NOT being reproduced.Hope this helps.I also have another door with the hinge starting to break.

They are not and an annoying part to start with. Poorly made when new too. Paint guys remedy sounds good.

I have had 69 GTO's for a quarter century and ever since the beginning worried that that crummy hinge design would let go, for what it is worth, it has never happened to me and you are the first incidence of it I ever came across.

All that to say that there are lots of them outhere and they are not expensive enough to mess with a repair that will never look right when it comes to selling the car.
