Default Where do you get your keys made? I Can't find blanks.

Hi,

I need to get a couple of keys made for my 66 Bonneville. I've tried Wal-Mart and a couple of the local parts stores (Autozone, O'Reilly's) and no one has the blanks to make keys for my car.

Do you know a place that has the blanks (other than going to a locksmith)?

Thanks for your time,
John Thomas

I found mine on ebay. There was a guy who had an auction going pretty much all the time.

If I can find a link, I will post it.

I'm sure our host Performance Years sells them right here.....

I bought some from Ames a few years ago so you could check there.

And I've seen them on eBay plenty of times

Good question I only have one key for my 1963 Lemans.....

It would be nice if some supplier could set up a key shop at Norwalk - I'm sure there are other guys that would need another set made up...

I bought mine at the local Carquest they keep them in stock.

P/Y also sells keys. If you have he codes call them and see if they can cut them or may actually have them in stock.

THANKS for the Tip. were the blanks aluminum like the originals or steel. It doesn't matter to me - just wondering.

I'll stop over to our local ACE and see if they have something.

Thanks,
Chris

One of the best places to get key's and blanks for your car is from a Locksmith.
Look for one that has been in busness for a long time. They always seem to have the blanks in stock for old cars.

All Hdwe stores should have them. As was mentioned it is a B&S blank. The door & Ign # is B-10 for the blank. I believe the trunk is B-12. I have cut more of these than I care to remember.

Regardless of where you get the blank they can cut them for you at the Hdwe store.

The originals as with most duplicates should be made of brass.

I got four keys through him (ign and trunk for '65; ign and trunk for '63) and then, as Deadhead said, took them to my local hardware store and had them cut.
