Black Triangles on Headlight Bezels
My '64 has had it's bezels/retaining frames "re-done". If you look at a correct front shot, you'll see that the section between the two headlights (above and below) are blacked out somehow. Mine is still all shiny chrome colored. Does anyone know the correct way in which these were made black? I'd much rather do it right than take a Sharpie to it. (see attachment)

They were painted. I painted mine semi-gloss black, but I wasn't worried about the color being factory correct.

This was the best picture I could find in my archives.

Here's some more for you. I just used a flat black paint on the grills and bezels. I believe semi-gloss is what the factory used, but I prefer the look of flat black.

SEM Trim Black would be good. It's a about a 50% gloss and will stick to chrome.
